Introducing: Ranks of Flowers, Fancy No. 29
These hardcover Coptic books feature a most extraordinary paper printed by Vintage Paper Co UK called ‘Ranks of Flowers, Fancy No. 29’. They are called ‘Fancy Prints’ because they involve complex multi-layers of colors, skillfully printed onto antique text print, normally 200+ years old! This one dates 1849!
Each cover of the ‘Ranks of Flowers’ Coptic books features one of these original ‘Fancy Prints’ on top of an intriguing Napalese paper – Gauze Butter Paper - which blends richly colored parchment with a layer of gauze cloth, creating an incredible depth of texture and color.
Each ‘Fancy Print’ is one-of-a-kind and can be viewed in the Gallery below, which are numbered for ease of selection and identification. Simply select the Cover Option you'd like on the product page by choosing the print number.
Ranks of Flowers, Fancy Print Coptic books are 4” x 6”, hardcover, filled with 112 pages of khadi cotton rag, lined with Jemma Lewis marbled prints, and wrapped with vintage sari silk ribbon. Each journal is one of a kind, $145.
Lokta Filled Hardcover Coptic Books: A Tactile Dream
Hard-cover Coptic bound books are filled with handmade lokta paper, both soft and sturdy, ideal for pencils, gel pens, acrylics, and even fountain pens.
Covers are made from Nepalese Gauze Paper, hand-stamped with wooden block prints and hand-painted gold leaf accents. The back covers are adorned with a lovely piece of kantha cloth, bringing a final touch of history and texture.
